Le récit autobiographique de la guérison de Normand Mousseau, un physicien canadien atteint de diabète de type 2. Cette maladie que l'on dit incurable s'accompagne généralement de complications, notamment cardiovasculaires. Quand son médecin lui annonce sa maladie, Normand est sous le choc. Les recommandations qu'on lui fait (alimentation, activité physique, médicaments…) se révèlent inefficaces. Or ce que désire profondément Normand, c'est guérir.
Il cherche, se documente et découvre les travaux de chercheurs anglais de l'université de Newcastle. Ils guérissent des diabétiques grâce à un régime élaboré pour régénérer le pancréas et rétablir la sensibilité des cellules à l'insuline. Pendant 2 mois, Normand suit ce protocole. A l'issue du régime, sa glycémie à jeun est redevenue normale. Il n'est plus diabétique. L'auteur invite les diabétiques à suivre son exemple et leur donne les clés et la motivation pour inverser la maladie.
